Sprint Plans – Comparison, Reviews, and Deals

Sprint Wireless Plan Guide by WalletHero

In recent years, Sprint has been one of the wireless carriers to innovate the most on their plans. This includes having plans specific to the iPhone, as well as keeping their unlimited data plans for individuals. In this guide, we break down all of the popular Sprint plans with comparisons and reviews of each plan available. We also keep an updated section of deals and discounts for their plans. Browse through our guide below to help you choose the right plan and get more information about all of the data plans from Sprint.

Unlimited Data Plan for Individuals

sprint individual plansAs we mentioned previously, Sprint is popular for their unlimited data plans where they don’t throttle your high-speed data at any point. There are some carriers that will offer unlimited data but they only give you a few gigabytes of high-speed data, Sprint doesn’t throttle at all and always gives you high-speed data when it’s available. The individual plan is pretty simple as the unlimited data, talk, and text is your only option. The price is currently set at $60 per month if you lease a phone or bring your own phone and $85 per month if you sign a 2-year contract to receive a phone at a discounted rate.

Sprint Family Plan (Shared Data Plan)

Sprint family plansThe Sprint family plan option also works for any individuals who want to share data within a plan. All of these plans come with unlimited text and talk, which is becoming the standard for all wireless carriers. The difference in price comes down to how much data you need each month. Sprint has shared data plans starting at 1GB clear up to 60GB per month. For most families who use an average amount of data each and have 3-5 lines, you will need somewhere between the 8GB and 10GB plans. Our recommendation and the best value plan is the 10GB plan which is $100 monthly when you lease your phones or bring you own phones.

Data Plans for Tablets

Sprint tablet data plansSprint offers data plans specific to tablets without having to share data within a plan. You can purchase a data plan for your iPad or other eligible tablet starting at $10 per month for a 100MB plan with 30GB’s at $110 per month. In our opinion, if you’re using your tablet for streaming movies and browsing the web you should opt for the 3GB plan at $35 per month or at the minimum grab a gigabyte for $15 per month. A lot of this depends on how much data you use each month, but the 100MB plan is essentially worthless for most that use any data beyond just checking their email outside of WiFi.

Best Plan for the iPhone?

We get asked many times per week by our readers “which Sprint plan is best for the iPhone?” When answering this question about other wireless carriers it can be tough, but Sprint makes it easy as they have a plan just for the iPhone, called the iPhone Forever plan. This plan is an unlimited data plan that allows you to upgrade your iPhone to a newer version at any time. You can find more information through the previous link where we break down the entire program.

Which Plan Is The Best Overall?

Figuring out which plan is the best comes down to how many devices are on your plan as well as how much data you use each month. If you’re an individual signing up for a plan then it’s a no-brainer to get the unlimited plan starting at $60 a month.

If you’re looking for a family plan or a plan to share data then we would recommend the 10GB plan as you’re going to get a decent amount of data for the cheapest rate possible. If you have three to five devices on your plan then you should still have plenty of data with this plan where you won’t feel like you’re always having to conserve your data towards the end of the month. Every family is different so you may need more data, but for the average data per device you should be fine with this plan.

If you still have any questions or comments about the plan feel free to leave them within the comments below as well as leave your own reviews. We will do our best to answer any questions you have about Sprint’s wireless plans.

As of right now, there are no unlimited data plans available for family or shared data plans. You can get unlimited data with most individual plans, but the family plans all have shared data. You can, of course, purchase a large amount of data should pretty much make it unlimited, but they don’t technically have an unlimited plan. If you need unlimited data then you may be better off getting a few unlimited plans instead of purchasing the large amount of data needed for a shared data plan. Sprint has tools available to figure out which would be cheaper once you add in your phones.

Note: We have updated the new pricing for Sprint’s unlimited data plan. They have increased the price of the plan from $60 to $70 per month for new customers. Those who already have an unlimited plan through Sprint will be grandfathered into the pricing and should not see an increase.
