What Rewards Are Available?

The rewards are a big reason why many small business owners chose one credit card over another. The Chase Ink Plus has some of the better rewards available on the market with reward points for everything from you cell phone bill to travel and office supplies. Aside from their main categories they offer 1x points per dollar on any purchase outside of the bonus point categories with no yearly limit. Look through the rewards below to figure out exactly how this fits into your current spending habits.

5X Points per $1: You will receive 5x points per dollar spent on things such as office supplies (office supply stores), cell phone, internet, cable, and landlines. (rewards on first $50,000)
2X Points per $1: You will receive 2x points per dollar spent on things including gas stations, hotel bookings, and other select travel. (rewards on first $50,000)
1x Points per $1: You will receive 1x points per dollar spent on any other purchases outside of the categories we already mentioned. There is no yearly limit on these rewards.

The rewards can be spent on travel, gift cards and more through the Chase online platform. You can also choose to transfer these points to other travel programs at a 1:1 rate. If you book through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel booking engine then they throw in an extra 20% off the total price.

Annual Fee: $95

The Chase Ink Plus does have an annual fee of $95. The first year after your initial sign-up is free so you won’t be paying any type of fee until the first year after you receive your card. If you spend enough to get the sign-up bonus offer within the first three months you will have already paid for over five years of the annual fee just in the bonus reward. While we’re not big fans of an annual fee this is one of the few cards where it isn’t a deal-breaker.

Sign-Up Bonus Offers

As of the time of this review they have a bonus offer of 60,000 bonus points if you spend at least $5,000 within the first three months from account opening. This is equivalent to around $750 in travel that can be used to book flights and hotels through their system or be transferred to numerous other travel rewards program. The bonus is automatically applied to your account once you hit the minimum amount within the first three billing cycles.

You can check the page to see if this offer is still live and what other bonus offers they may have available.

Pros:

  • 60,000 Bonus Points Signing Promotion
  • 5X Points On office supplies, cell phone, internet, cable and 2X points on hotels, gas and more.
  • No Foreign Transaction Fee

Cons:

  • Annual Fee of $95 (waived for the first year)

Verdict:
The Chase Ink plus is a solid business credit card that . While there are very few negatives we would like to see the annual fee reduced as well as Chase Bank’s online system updated. Other than that the card performs well in almost all areas. This is one of the current credit cards we use for our company and we recommend it for almost all small business owners.
